The National Cyber Scholarship Foundation (NCSF) uses cookies as part of the delivery of its webpages.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small pieces of text sent to your web browser by a website you visit. A cookie file is stored in your web browser and allows the service or a third-party to recognise you, makes your next visit easier and renders the service more useful to you.

Cookies can be either 'persistent' or 'session' cookies. Persistent cookies may remain on your hard drive until you erase them or they expire. Session cookies are temporary cookie files, which are erased when you close your browser.

How NCSF uses cookies

When you use our webpages you will be asked to set your cookie preferences. In order to access the NCSF webpages there are some cookies that are Essential, you will need to agree to their use if you wish to access the NCSF webpages. We use these cookies to:

  • To enable certain functions of the service to operate

  • To store your preferences

We use session and persistent cookies on the service and we use different types of cookies to provide these Essential cookies. Blocking our Essential cookies may prevent you using our service.

You will be offered the option to manage your cookies and to opt into non-essential cookies if you wish to. Some of our non-essential cookies may be third-party cookies. These are cookies that belong to companies that NCSF works with, and allow us to understand how we are delivering our services to you.

Non-essential cookies that we offer will allow us to monitor the use of this website and make improvements to it.

What are your options regarding cookies?

Cookies are managed through our cookie banner that will allow you to 'opt in' or 'opt out' of non-essential cookies. At present our non-essential cookies are limited to selected third parties that we work with to provide us with information about the use of our site and to help improve the use of our site.

Our non-essential cookies belong to third-party companies and are used to track how people find and use this website. These companies include:

  • Analytics and screen ercordings with HotJar of how you interact with this website so we can make improvements to the usability and experience of the site.

  • Google Analytics so that we can better understand how people are using and finding information on our site.

You do not have to agree to any non-essential cookies, and if you do not consent it will have no effect on your ability to use our webpages. If you later decide to opt-out of those non-essential cookies, you may need to manually remove those third-party cookies using your browser's cookie preferences and clearing settings; due to how third-party cookies work, we are not always able to delete or remove these cookies for you after they have been previously set.

Essential cookies are necessary to use the site and if you do not allow them you will have difficulty using the site.

You can delete cookies or instruct your web browser to delete or refuse cookies to do this you should visit the help pages of your web browser.
